New description ‑ Iowa 146 and its extensions in Marshall County described as follows:

 

Beginning on the Marshall‑Tama County line at a point near the NE Corner of Section 36‑T82N‑R17W, Marshall County (NW Corner of Section 31‑T82N‑R16W, Tama County); thence west following substantially the section line of Section 36‑T82N‑R17W to the east corporation line of Gilman connecting with Strait Street.

 

Gilman:

 

Beginning on Strait Street at the east corporation line; then west on Strait Street to Elm Street; then northwest an Elm Street to an unnamed street; then northerly on unnamed street to the north corporation line.

 

Beginning again on the north corporation line of Gilman connecting with an unnamed street; then north following substantially the section line of Sections 25, 24, 13, 12, and 1‑T82N‑R17W and Sections 36, 25, 24, and 13‑T83N‑R17W to the west corporation line of Le Grand connecting with Beane Street.

 

Le Grand:

 

Beginning on Beane Street on the west corporation line; then north on Beane Street to Main Street (junction US 30).

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

 

Due to a review of our Primary Road System records, Iowa 146 in Marshall County should be deleted from the Primary Road System and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary Road System.

 

Iowa 146 begins on the Marshall‑Tama County line approximately 1 mile east of Gilman, Iowa and travels in a westerly and northerly direction via Gilman and Le Grand, Iowa terminating at the junction of US 30 in Gilman, Iowa.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

Locate Iowa 146 and its extensions in Marshall County as follows:

 

Beginning on the Marshall‑Tama County line at a point near the NE Corner of Section 36‑T82N‑R17W, Marshall County (NW Corner of Section 31‑T82N‑R16W, Tama County); thence westerly following substantially the section line of Section 36‑T82N‑R17W to the east corporation line of the City of Gilman connecting with an unnamed street.

 

Gilman:

 

Beginning on the east corporation line connecting with an unnamed street; thence westerly, northwesterly, and northerly to the north corporation line connecting with an unnamed street.

 

Beginning again on the north corporation line of the City of Gilman connecting with an unnamed street; thence northerly following substantially the section line of Sections 25, 24, 13, 12, and 1‑T82N‑R17W and Sections 36, 25, 24, and 13-­T33N‑R17W to the west corporation line of the City of Le Grand connecting with an unnamed street.

 

Le Grand:

 

Beginning on the west corporation line connecting with an unnamed street; thence northerly to Main Street (junction US 30).

 

NOW, THEREFORE: Be it resolved that the Iowa Department of Transportation approve the location of Iowa 146 in Marshall County, Iowa.

 

NOTE: To become effective upon the adoption of this resolution.
